Brian Cox used to play keyboards for the band D:Ream (best known for ‘Things Can Only Get Better’, although Cox didn’t actually play on that track). Nowadays, though, he is one of the most recognisable faces in science. Aside from his research, he has written several popular science books and presented numerous educational programmes on British television.
